Federal Express (FedEx) Taiwan recently announced the extension of cut-off times by reorganizing its ground operation systems to further enhance the firm’s express service performance on the island.

FedEx has extended reception cut-off time, for example, for its new daily connections between Europe and Asia for two hours, from previous 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., said Jimmy Chen, director of FedEx Taiwan. “FedEx had re-engineered the ground transportation network to meet the increasing demand between Europe and Asia,” said Chen. “This service enables our customers to deliver their goods to Europe with extended cut-off time of 5:00 p.m., making FedEx Taiwan the first express company that offers daily flights to Europe with the latest cut-off time in local market,” he addressed. Meanwhile, the courier company also extended the cut-off time for it parcel express deliveries internationally to North America and domestically to Kaohsiung.

In addition, by end of September, FedEx will significantly extend international service cut-off time from current 1100 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for deliveries departing from Kaohsiung Airport to Asia, America or Europe, said Chen. FedEx’s director said that the top six key factors influencing the customers to use the drop-off services were reliability, delivery time, tracking service, price and the carrier’s reputation, according to a recent report on drop-off service users’ behavior. “The express market in Taiwan is now expanding rapidly,” he said. “Hence it becomes more important for courier companies to continuously improve service performance in order to keep their competitiveness in this market.”
