Chinese Taipei will face severe tests in the Women’s World Basketball Championship after being drawn in group C along with Russia the United States and Lithuania, local sports officials said Monday.
The draw, which took place earlier that day in mainland China’s Nanking City, Jiangsu Province, for the championship to be held there between Sept. 14-25, pits Chinese Tapei against the tournament’s three favorites.
The other 12 teams were divided into three other groups.
The top two teams of each group will square off in the quarterfinals and only the best four will make it to the semis.
All the games will held in Nanking or nearby cities.
