Five of the top-selling cellphones in Taiwan were produced by Taiwan firms, according to a sales-ranking report released yesterday by Mobihome Company Ltd. In its list of the top 10 best-selling cellphone models in Taiwan in June, the OKWAP i108, TCC Q285, BenQ S6301 and G-Plus i800 were ranked second, fifth, eighth and ninth, respectively. Number four was another OKWAP model. “Local brands of cell phones are getting popular among local consumers,” the company commented.

The Nokia 8310 topped the sales list in June despite its relatively high price level of about NT$11,500 per unit.

The second place OKWAP i108, with features a color screen, sells for NT$6,990. Ranked third was the SonyEricssonT68.

The Nokia 8250 came in sixth, while the Fisio 820 came in seventh. Rounding out the list was the Motorola 388.

All of the cellphones had stylish designs and advanced functions, said Mobihome.
