Real Madrid draws Getafe 1-1

Real Madrid drew Getafe 1-1 and was six points off the lead in the Spanish league on Sunday. Daniel Guiza scored in the 38th minute for Getafe and Ruud van Nistelrooy equalized with a penalty on halftime for his 12th goal of the season. Madrid’s draw with the modest side from the Spanish capital kept it in fourth place, with only five wins from 12 league games at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this season. Madrid coach Fabio Capello said David Beckham and forward Jose Antonio Reyes would miss Wednesday’s Champions League match at Bayern Munich after injuring their knees during the game. “They are certainly out of the game against Bayern. One of the injuries is serious, the other could be something too,” Capello was quoted as saying by news agency Efe. Reyes was carried off on a stretcher after a collision with Getafe goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri in the 32nd minute, while Beckham limped off in the 69th. In the late game, Recreativo Huelva beat Atletico Madrid 1-0. Also, Diego Milito’s 16th goal of the season helped Zaragoza rally to a 3-2 victory over lowly Real Sociedad. In other 25th-round games, it was: Deportivo La Coruna 0, Real Betis 1; Espanyol 1, Villarreal 1; Mallorca 3, Levante 1; Racing Santander 1, Osasuna 0; and Athletic Bilbao 0, Gimnastic Tarragona 2. Sevilla leads the league with 50 points, FC Barcelona has 49, and Valencia 46. Madrid has 44, and Zaragoza 42, two more than Atletico and Recreativo.
