Lawmakers are planning to convene a two-week extraordinary legislative session starting July 10, Legislative Yuan Speaker Wang Jin-pyng said yesterday.
Although the legislators have largely agreed to discuss six bills at the extraordinary session, there are differences over the controversial Organic Law of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the priority of the bills so that whether the extra session will be held is yet certain.
Wang said an informal meeting will be held Monday to set the agenda for the extraordinary session. To help bridge differences, he went on, he might have to convene another coordination meeting this week.
Legislators have tentatively planned to hold the extraordinary session July 10-20.
