SYDNEY, Australia — Striker Daniel Allsop scored the only goal in Melbourne’s 1-0 win over Sydney FC on Saturday to continue his team’s unbeaten run through seven rounds of Australian soccer’s A-League. Allsop, a prolific scorer last season who has struggled to find the net this year, latched onto an Adrian Carceres cross in the 81st minute to give Melbourne only its second win in a season in which it has had five draws.

Sydney was reduced to 10 men in the 25th minute when midfielder Steve Corica was sent off for kicking Steve Pantelidis during a midair challenge for possession. At the end of the match referee Mark Shield was escorted from the field by police.
