China’s car sales in September up 22.4%


BEIJING — China’s passenger car sales rose 22.4 percent in September led by General Motors Corp.’s Buick Excelle as a surging stock market boosted consumers’ wealth.

Total car sales rose to 561,000 vehicles as GM’s Buick Excelle topped the country’s car sales for first time this year, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said in an e- mailed statement today.
