Vikings-Redskins game moved to Sunday night

NEW YORK — The Minnesota Vikings’ Dec. 23 home game against the Washington Redskins was moved to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” as part of the National Football League’s flexible scheduling. The league moved the Week 16 game, which was originally set for that afternoon on Fox, to 8:15 p.m. New York time. The plan guarantees competitive matchups to General Electric Co.’s NBC, currently in its second season of a six-year, US$3.6 billion contract to show games at night.

The Vikings (7-6) have won their last four games, and have a one-game lead over the Redskins (6-7) and three other teams for the final postseason berth in the National Football Conference.
