KINMEN, Taiwan — The outlying island of Kinmen will hold a mountain-climbing activity Friday to celebrate the Republic of China Double Ten National Day.
The Kinmen County government invited all county residents and soldiers stationed on the island to take part in the activity at Taiwu Mountain.
The mountain-climbing event is being held to promote healthy leisure sports and encourage more people to take part in outdoor activities, the government said.
All participants in the activity will receive gifts, free drinks and raffle tickets for a draw to be held at the square outside Haiyin Temple on Taiwu Mountain.
The prizes include 32-inch and 37-inch LCD televisions, a notebook computer, a washing machine and other home appliances.
The activity is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Yuchang Road at the foot of the mountain.
