Taiwan Police College celebrates 63rd anniversary


TAIPEI, Taiwan — Taiwan Police College (TPC) marked its 63rd anniversary Saturday by holding a celebration ceremony and a series of activities under the theme of “steadiness, self-confidence, excellence, and growth.”

Minister of the Interior Liao Liou-yi was on hand at the ceremony to offer his congratulations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chen Lien-chen, the new president of TPC, said that the educational goal of the college is to teach future law enforcement and disaster rescue workers the professional skills they will need for their job, as well as cultivate the spirit of the democratic rule of law and teach them to think independently when performing their duties.

The series of activities, held on the campus drill ground and open to the general public, included displays by students of the skills they have learned at the college,including judo and taekwondo, as well as performances by various student groups.
