Taiwanese gastronomy shines at London fair

LONDON — Taiwanese gourmet dishes, such as three-cup chicken and beef noodle soup, won the hearts and minds of more than 300 British travel service professionals who attended an Asia Pacific tourism promotional event in London yesterday.

The Taiwanese delicacies were presented at a booth set up by Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau at the fair, dubbed “A Taste of Pacific Asia Travel Association” which took place at Jubilee Market in downtown London.

Wang Tsung-sheng, director of the Tourism Bureau office in Frankfurt, Germany and executives of major Taiwanese travel agencies took part in the event to promote Taiwanese culture and tourism.

The Taiwanese booth captured the best design award for its innovative design that conveys a happy holiday atmosphere.

In addition to gourmet food, the Taiwanese booth also offered visitors publicity brochures introducing Taiwan’s tourist attractions and tour packages.

The fair was organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association, of which Taiwan is a senior member. The association has more than 2,000 members in the United Kingdom alone.

Besides Taiwan, many other Asian countries and areas also set up booths at the event.
