Standard Chartered rolls out corporate iPhone-banking app

Standard Chartered Bank has rolled out one of the first iPhone-banking apps that will afford clients in the nation immediate access to and greater convenience in performing transactions.

As part of Standard Chartered’s “Straight2Bank” (S2B) online offering, the iPhone app has been made available to corporate clients with S2B access. While S2B enables clients to authorize cash and trade transactions on the Web, the new iPhone app is the first to make it available on the smartphone whenever and wherever.

For clients conducting businesses internationally, being able to make transactions through their iPhones will obliterate the burden of logging onto a computer and greatly increase efficiency, said Carl Wegner, the bank’s vice president of Business Development in the Asia-Pacific Region, adding that he was pleased to introduce the service in the Taiwan market. Neal Livingston, the global head of Standard Chartered’s client access, identified the iPhone as the gadget of choice for their clients. With the introduction of the Straight2Bank iPhone app, there will be a perceptible rise in the standard of bank management service and access, he added. S2B can is a one-stop online banking and cash management solution from Standard Chartered Bank. Services the Web offering provides include checking balances, direct debits and credits and telegraphic transfers among others.
