SEOUL — Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, South Korea’s second largest shipbuilder, said Thursday it has won a US$1.3 billion order to build a gas-producing offshore platform. Under a preliminary contract signed with U.S. energy firm Chevron, Daewoo said it would deliver the platform in the second half of 2014. The company said it has now won deals valued at nearly US$11 billion so far this year, exceeding its annual target of US$10 billion.
