TAIPEI — Taiwanese model and actress, Lin Chi-ling, was named by local male workers in a poll as their ideal companion on Valentine’s Day if they had a choice, according to the results of a yes123 online survey released yesterday.
Lin, dubbed “the first face of Taiwan” by some members of the local media, topped the list of ideal lovers among male respondents in a poll conducted by the Taipei-based online job bank in January.
She was followed by Sonia Sui, also a model, and Tsai Huang-ju, an Internet sensation, while pop singers Show Luo, Wang Leehom and Liren Li, known for being the husband of popular Taiwanese show host Momoko Tao, were the top three choices among female respondents, the survey showed.
Yes123 also found that when asked about what they wished for in their love lives this year, most respondents (49.9 percent) said they hoped to fall in love, 27.8 percent wanted to get married, 11.8 percent wanted to stay single, and 5.9 percent hoped to find a new lover.
When asked about the occupation an ideal spouse should have, the respondents were widely divided, with 15.5 percent saying they would want to marry a public servant, 13.6 percent preferring engineers, 9.9 percent favoring executives and 8.7 percent hoping to marry designers, the survey found.
Meanwhile, the poll also found that only one quarter of respondents planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14.
Yes123 conducted the survey online on Jan. 3-28, with 2,582 valid responses collected.
