Flora Expo hits 6 million visitor mark after 4 months


TAIPEI–The number of visitors to the Taipei International Flora Exposition broke the six million mark yesterday, more than four months after its opening on Nov. 6.

To celebrate the milestone, NT$100,000 (US$3,378) worth of department store gift vouchers, as well as souvenir wine and baby strollers were to be handed out at Dajia Riverside Park later the same day, the Taipei City government said.

In addition, a rock and roll concert was scheduled be held at the park, with free drinks available, the city government said.

The expo attracted over one million visitors on Nov. 28, more than two million on Dec. 15, and recorded three, four and five million by Jan. 5, Feb. 3, and Feb. 25, respectively.
