Radioactive fallout from Japan will not affect Taiwan over the weekend, said the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) in Taiwan.
Although the wind, which is currently blowing eastward, may carry a bit of the fallout towards Taiwan, the closest it will get is still 2,000 kilometers away from the nation, according to the CWB.
CWB said the wind will be blowing southward next Monday, bringing the fallout back to Japan.
There might also be a chance of showers today in Central and Northern Taiwan, but the weather will be sunny tomorrow and people can expect a warm Sunday, said the CWB.
