XIAMEN–The 4th Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair opened here Saturday with 510 Taiwanese businesses taking part.
Around 1,000 Chinese businesses also took part in the fair, which will last until Monday.
Taiwan, which is hosting the Taipei World Design Expo, has been actively taking part in the cultural creative exhibitions in mainland China in recent years.
Franz Chen, chairman of Asia-Pacific Cultural Creative Industry Association (CCIA), worked with Xiamen to bring about the fair.
Chen, himself the president of Franz Collection Inc., noted the rapid growth in the number of Taiwanese participants, compared with the 195 who took part in the first year of the fair.
“I hope both sides of the Taiwan Strait can complement each other to expand the market and go global,” Chen said.
