TAIPEI–Office workers aged 30-39 and women of all ages are the dominant shoppers online in Taiwan, according to the results of a survey on e-commerce released Friday. Wang Yi chih, a section chief of the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute, which conducted the survey, found that consumers in the 30-39 age bracket accounted for 62.3 percent of the average online store’s customer mix, with men and women divided evenly. The 20-29 age group was 27 percent of the online customer mix, with the ratio of female customers in this segment at about 60-80 percent.
“These figures show that women are the largest clients of online shops. Office workers aged between 30-39 are especially targeted because of their spending power and deep pockets,” Wang said.
