TAIPEI–The annual Taipei Game Show will be held this year right after the Lunar New Year holiday at a bigger and more popular venue to accommodate a growing number of exhibitors and game enthusiasts. The Taipei Computer Association (TCA), which is organizing the event, has decided to move it to the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall.
The complex in northeast Taipei is the biggest trade show venue in Taiwan. It has an exhibition space of 45,360 square meters and a capacity of 2,467 standard-sized booths.
Since the Taipei Game Show was launched 10 years ago, it has grown to become one of the major shows of its kind in the Asia-Pacific area, with Taiwan positioning itself as a digital content hub and a gaming industry pioneer in the region.
The exhibition provides an opportunity not only for game companies to showcase their latest designs but also for video game lovers to hunt for their favorite titles.
This year, the products will range from online and PC games to smartphone applications and toy models, the TCA said.
The show will run from Feb. 2-6 and is expected to attract 300,000 visitors.
