In an effort to fulfill their social obligations, Taiwan-based networking giant Cisco Taiwan (台灣思科) and communications software developer Dimension Data Taiwan (台灣岱凱) have recently organized a joint benefit on the sidelines of advocacy group World Vision Taiwan’s 23rd 30-hour Famine, hoping to amplify the latter’s impact. “The 12-hour Famine,” of which the purpose was to give “warmth and love” to the socioeconomically disadvantaged people in an altruistic spirit, brought together the two companies’ voluntary employee participants in a teleconference made possible by Cisco’s advanced TelePresence Technology (網真視訊會議技術).

According to a press release dated Feb. 16, participants in the activity, who voluntarily observed a 12-hour fast, included employees in Taiwan and those traveling in other countries on business.
