FRANKFURT–Fresenius Medical Care, the world’s leading supplier of renal care products and services, said on Tuesday it was confident for business this year after record results in 2011. FMC, which publishes its accounts in US dollars, said in a statement that bottom-line net profit rose by 9.0 percent to US$1.071 million (808 million euros) last year on a 6.0-percent increase in sales to US$12.795 billion. “We are very pleased to have achieved another year of record results in 2011,” said chief executive Ben Lipps. “In the past 15 years, since the foundation of the company, Fresenius Medical Care has been able to quadruple its sales and to increase its earnings tenfold. With our strong performance in 2011 we are proposing to deliver our fifteenth consecutive dividend increase to our shareholders,” Lipps sid.
The payout would be increased to 0.69 euros per share from 0.65 euros for 2010.
