Cold weather predicted to last into next week: CWB

TAIPEI–A cold air mass moving from China is likely to send the mercury plunging later on Friday, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) cautioned that day.

Temperatures in areas north of Changhua may plummet to a low of around 10 degrees Celsius as the cold air mass picks up strength, the bureau said.

The increasing moisture is also expected to bring rain to northern and central Taiwan, while snow is likely in mountainous areas, according to the CWB.

The bureau said the cold spell is expected to persist until next Monday, when the strength of the cold air mass weakens.
