Foreign specialists urge local autism awareness

TAIPEI–Specialists from China, Israel and France gathered on the first day of a conference to promote the understanding of autism Thursday, ahead of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. The event aims to provide an opportunity for foreign experts to interact with local social workers on various autism issues, according to the Foundation for Autistic Children and Adults in Taiwan, the organizer of the two-day conference.

Participants will not only discuss early intervention methods but also dwell on tutorial programs and career planning for adolescents with autism, the foundation said.
