A 40-year-old man’s frozen body was found in a freezer containing medical equipment in New Taipei City, yesterday afternoon. The police are still in the process of determining why the man was stuck in the freezer. At 1:45 p.m. yesterday, the New Taipei City Fire Department received a report that a man was stuck in a freezer in Wugu District. When fire fighters arrived at the scene and unlocked the freezer, the man was exhibiting no vital signs. They did not send the man to the hospital.

The case is currently under investigation by the police and labor associations. Because the design of the freezer, which is used for storing medical equipment, allows it to be opened from both the outside and the inside of the structure, the circumstances of the man’s death are highly unusual, according to the police.
