Efforts to internationalize Taiwanese cuisine pay off

The China Post news staff– The government’s efforts toward promoting the internationalization of delicious Taiwanese foods and cuisine have paid off, attracting foreign tourists to visit Taiwan, creating job opportunities and fueling private investments in the food-related service industries, Premier Sean Chen said yesterday.

Chen made the remark after hearing a report by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on its plan for promoting the internationalization of Taiwan’s delicious foods and cuisines.

In its report, the MOEA said the plan has recorded several concrete achievements, such as establishing a total of 1,204 Taiwanese food and cuisine promotion stores at home and abroad, creating 9,720 job opportunities, the successful promotion of international food brands, cultivating 550 specialists in Taiwanese cuisine, and attracting private investment of NT$6.75 billion.
