TAIPEI — Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai expressed hope yesterday that the Bureau of Cultural Heritage under the new Ministry of Culture will provide more efficient and better services.

The establishment of the bureau will focus on introducing the stories behind historically important architecture, houses and landmarks around the country, Lung said at the bureau’s inauguration ceremony in Taichung, central Taiwan.

The bureau, which is one of the major institutes under the Ministry of Culture, administers cultural heritage preservation, which includes historical sites, antiquities, cultural landscapes, folk art and traditional art forms.
