Taiwan aerospace firm gets NT$1 billion order

TAIPEI — Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC) has received an order from Sicamb of Italy to supply composite material parts for the horizontal stabilizers used for the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the company said Thursday.

A contract for the NT$1 billion deal was recently signed at the 2012 Farnborough International Air Show in the United Kingdom.

Both AIDC and Sicamb are suppliers of horizontal auxbox assemblies to Italy-based Alenia Aeronautica, which is contracted to assemble the horizontal stabilizers.
