Tech giants to discuss cloud business at forum


TAIPEI — A number of technology company leaders will meet at a local forum tomorrow to discuss changes in the cloud computing industry and cloud business opportunities on the global stage.

Organized by Taiwanese newspaper Economic Daily News, the forum, held under the banner “The Future of Cloud Summit,” will be attended by IBM Vice President Thomas Li, Intel Taiwan’s country manager Jason Chen and Google Taiwan Managing Director Chien Lee-feng.

Other speakers include Quanta Computer Inc. Chairman Barry Lam, Chunghwa Telecom Co. Chairman Lu Shyue-ching and Trend Micro Inc. co-founder and CEO Eva Chen, the organizer said.

According to Taiwan’s Industrial Economics and Knowledge Research Center, the output of global cloud services is expected to grow from US$27.95 billion last year to US$63.84 billion in 2015.
