TAIPEI–A job search site for new immigrants in Taiwan began a trial run Friday in preparation for its official launch on Jan. 24.
More than 50 employers have so far advertised over 300 job openings on the site www.1111.com.tw/zone/immigration/, which was set up by 1111 Job Bank in cooperation with the National Immigration Agency (NIA).
The majority of jobs listed are in the food and restaurant industry.
The jobs are divided into four main categories — immediate start, prompt response, no experience required, and part time. Jobseekers can search by type of position, industry, or location, using a map to find jobs near where they live.
NIA Director-General Hsieh Li-kung said the new service will help foreign spouses who need a job and businesses that are looking for workers.
