TAIPEI, Taiwan — In support of a global environmental movement, Citibank yesterday announced that all lighting at all 32 of its locations in Taiwan will be turned off from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 23, excluding lighting required for safety and operation requirements.

Earth Hour is a global environmental conservation event organized by the World Wild Life Federation. Over 100 nations worldwide have participated since its beginning in 2007.

The event aims to unite the global community in embracing environmental conservation by switching off lights for one designated hour, often scheduled to take place toward the end of March.
