Injured Taiwanese stable after Norway bus collision


TAIPEI — All Taiwanese tourists that sustained minor to severe injuries in the tour bus crash in Norway were reported by the Tourism Bureau Wednesday as remaining in stable condition. Five with minor injuries had been discharged from a local hospital and reunited with the rest of their tour group, while two who suffered more serious head injuries remained hospitalized, according to bureau officials.

Meanwhile, family members of a Taiwanese woman killed in the traffic accident and the two seriously injured people were on their way to Norway, the bureau said. Twenty-six-year-old Lin Wen-ling died in the crash, in which the vehicle carrying the tour group collided with a local bus while traveling in the Sogndal area of western Norway. A Norwegian woman was also killed.

The cause of the bus crash was still under investigation, according to the Foreign Ministry.
