Moser glasswork to be displayed across Taiwan through October

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Luxury glasswork and crystal manufacturer Moser a.s., regarded as a national treasure in the Czech Republic, launched a tour in Taiwan on Oct. 2 that features some of the company’s best works as well as the expertise of a master engraver from the firm. The exhibition, organized by Opulent State Life Corp. (國裕公司) and entitled “The Immortal Brilliance under Blazing Flame” (國王的盛宴-赤燄下的不朽光華), is running from Oct. 2 to Oct. 14 at 9F of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A9 Branch in Xinyi District, Taipei and from Oct. 4 to Oct. 13 at the City Hall (8F) of the SOGO Department Store Fushing Branch. It will move to Taichung at 10F, Far Eastern Department Store from Oct. 16 to Oct. 21 and then to Kaohsiung’s Han Shin Department Store (8F) from Oct. 23 to Oct. 29.

Glassworks and crystals showcased in the tour include masterpieces by Moser’s engravers and designers such as Belvedere 801, the hand cut and engraved bowl from the motif Watteau collection, which complements the Maria Theresia collection and was created recently to mark the 100th anniversary of the Maria Theresia collection. Visitors to the exhibition will also have a chance to meet master engraver Milan Holubek, who has worked with Moser since 1971.

Ludwig Moser (1833 – 1916), the founder of Moser, opened his own shop and engraver’s workshop in the Austro-Hungarian (now Czech) city of Karlovy Vary in 1893 and earned in a short time a reputation as one of the most prestigious crystal producers in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

Moser’s products are special for their unique color spectrum and the fact that they are made from ecologically friendly lead-free crystal and designed by some of the most prestigious designers.
