15 YouBike stations to be closed for New Year’s Eve

TAIPEI, Taiwan — A total of 15 YouBike rental stations are slated to stop operations today in connection with the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations, said the Taipei City Government’s Department of Transportation (DOT) yesterday. As the celebrations held in front of the Taipei City Government have drawn large crowds in previous years, the Xinyi District will be sealed off before the performances begin, and bikes are not allowed in the area, said the DOT.

Starting from 5:00 p.m. today, 13 rental stations will cease operations: MRT Sun Yet-sen Station, Renai and Yixian Intersection, Sanchangli, MRT Xinyi Anhe Station, Keelung and Guangfu Intersection, Citizen Square, TWTC Exhibition Hall 2 and 3, Xinyi Square, MRT Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station, Taipei City Government, Xingya Junior High School and MRT Xianshan Station.
