TAIPEI — Taiwan-based HTC Corp. declined to comment Tuesday on a media report that a mini version of its newest flagship smartphone, the HTC One M8, is scheduled to go on sale in May.
The rumored HTC One M8 mini will incorporate the same uni-body aluminum design as the M8 but its screen will be reduced to 4.5 inches, British tech news site 3G.co.uk reported Monday, citing sources inside a U.K. retailer.
The sources also confirmed that the M8’s “Duo” camera will not appear in the M8 mini but rather will be replaced with a single camera solution, the report said.
HTC said in an e-mailed response to CNA that it does not comment on “rumors or speculations.”
Previous rumors from Twitter account @evleaks revealed that the M8 mini will feature a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.7GHz processor, 16GB internal memory and a 13-megapixel rear camera.
