TAIPEI, Taiwan — Siemens introduced “Future of Manufacturing” solutions that highlight intelligent transitioning at this year’s Hannover Messe 2014 trade fair, which concluded on Friday, April 11. Hannover Messe 2014, the world’s biggest industrial fair focusing on industrial innovation and development, was held this year from April 7 to 11. Reflecting the German government’s vision of “Industry 4.0,” Siemens AG is focusing on the theme “setting the right technological course for the production of the future” in introducing new products for its Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) portfolio, Integrated Drive Systems (IDS) and Totally Integrated Power (TIP) solution. Siemens is also working on an overarching approach, linking Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software with engineering applications and integrated automation to increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption and shorten time-to-market, thereby enhancing flexibility and solidifying the foundation of global industry as it moves toward “Industry 4.0.”

Meanwhile, the growing scope and complexity of automation processes will see the future costs of engineering spiraling ever higher. How to forge greater flexibility in the production line and enhance efficiency in the manufacturing process are important issues facing the industrial community Amid globalization, Taiwan’s manufacturing sector is presently facing challenges in production resources allocation, production process flexibility and customization, hoping to rely on factory automation and intelligent production methods to overcome these bottlenecks. Siemens Taiwan President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Erdal Elver stated, “Advanced digitization and networking in combination with virtual planning and physical production has brought decisive growth momentum to the manufacturing industry.” “We anticipate that more and more enterprises will turn to innovative and integrated technology to strengthen their competitive position. Siemens supports Taiwan’s industrial upgrading and is actively introducing the latest industrial concepts and solutions to assist local industry to move towards sustainable development,” said Elver.
