TAIPEI, Taiwan — The Taiwan Outdoor Group (TOG, 台灣戶外品牌聯盟) is expected to launch a series of events starting this coming weekend to coincide with the 2014 New Taipei Tung Blossom Festival (新北桐花祭), the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (紡織產業綜合研究所, TTRI ) announced yesterday. The TOG, an alliance consisting of 24 Taiwan-based outdoor sporting wear makers, was formed in 2013 to leverage synergistic collaboration among local companies to expand their horizon to the Asian market, according to the TTRI. As part of the efforts to promote Taiwanese brands, the TOG will be hosting a series of outdoor events starting April 26, it said.
To begin with, an exhibition to showcase the TOG’s accomplishments to promote Made-in-Taiwan outdoor sporting wears will be held on April 26 at TTRI in New Taipei’s Tucheng District (土城區), it noted.
To coincide with the 2014 New Taipei Tung Blossom Festival that will run from April 26 to May 4, the TTRI will be organizing a series of outdoor events, including rock-climbing and hiking, to promote the TOG to the local market, the TTRI said.
