TAIPEI, Taiwan — The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MHW) is calling for short-film entries in a contest to promote mental health, with cash prizes totaling more than NT$100,000.
The MHW’s Department of Mental and Oral Health (DMOH), the organizer of the contest, said the entries must be creative story-telling works that express concepts of mental health and happiness. The works, which are meant to be streamed on the Internet, should remind the viewers of the importance of mental health or tell them how they can ease their psychological pressure, the department said. While winning films will be awarded cash prizes, viewers who vote online in the contest will have a chance of receiving NT$5,000 in cash, the DMOH said. The DMOH is also calling for suggestions of ways to control one’s temper and ease one’s psychological pressure, as well as songs that can lift people’s spirits.
