TAIPEI, Taiwan — For revelers in Taiwan, New Year celebrations mainly mean two things: watching the countdown fireworks and catching the first daybreak of the year.

The Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration (F_[ya) under the Tourism Bureau and First Financial Holding (Ĥ@) are teaming up for the seventh year to hold the New Year sunrise watching event at Fulong Beach in New Taipei City. The event, entitled First Dawn Happiness Party (Ģƥ֬), is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors due to the longer-than-usual four-day New Year holiday.

To entertain an expected large crowd, the venue will open at midnight, Jan. 1. Performances begin at 3 a.m. and continue until 2015’s first sunlight brings the party to its climax. The party will be hosted by DJ Dennis from the Hit FM radio station and Xiao Ru (pp), the model-host famous for her work on the Kodomo Challenge (s) children TV program. The event will also feature performers including Eelin Girl, Amber Ann (wߨ), boy groups SpeXial, Onetwofree (ۥѵo) and Magic Power (]kOq) as well as rock duo Power Station (ʤO), etc. A variety of stalls and food trucks will also be on site. To help revelers get to the northeastern coast, the Taiwan Railway Administration is also adding event-specific trains to its New Year Day schedule. Starting 1:50 a.m., the six New Year trains will set off from Banqiao Station and stop only at Taipei, Songshan, Nangang and Fulong stations.

First Financial Holding is also handing out free Taipei-Fulong two way train tickets, breakfast vouchers and mystery gifts to the first 1,000 persons registering for the event at the official website (http://2015.firstholding.com.tw) starting at 9 a.m. on Dec. 5. The lucky 1,000 can claim their train tickets on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26 (open hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at First Financial Holding headquarters on No. 30, Sec.1, Chung King South Road, Taipei. The breakfast vouchers and mystery gifts will be handed out to applicants holding signed confirmation letters at the event.
