TAIPEI–An approaching cold air mass will likely send the mercury down again beginning Sunday, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Saturday.
Rural open areas as far south as Miaoli County, as well as the outlying islands of Kinmen and Matsu, might see lows at around 10 degrees Celsius between late Sunday and early Monday, forecasters said.
During the affected period, temperatures could hover between 10-15 degrees in northern Taiwan, 11-18 degrees in central Taiwan, and 14-21 degrees in southern Taiwan, the bureau said.
Mostly sunny to cloudy skies are expected islandwide except for northern and eastern Taiwan, where sporadic showers are likely, according to the bureau.
The cold weather could ease up on Tuesday, with chances of rain also decreasing, the bureau said.
