Elite players gather at the 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco

The 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic is scheduled to take place April 23-26 in San Francisco, where top female golf players will gather to compete for the US$2 million (NT$61.81 million) first prize. All the world’s top 10 woman players will show up. Among them are No. 1 ranked professional golfer Lydia Ko, and Michelle Wie, who won the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open. Lexi Thompson, title winner of the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship, will also make an appearance.

CTBC Bank (�����H�U�Ȧ�), the event’s sponsor and a long-time promoter of golf, also invited six domestic players to participate in the game. A reason for holding the game is to facilitate experience exchange between local and foreign players, CTBC said. The 17-year-old ��golf prodigy�� Cheng Su-chia (�{����) is one of the promising local players sponsored by CTBC. Transforming from an amateur to professional only at the end of last year, Cheng said she is aiming for a top 15 spot. Hsu Wei-lin (�}����), victorious at the LPGA Symetra Tour in 2013, will take the opportunity to perform her best after a year of competition in the U.S. Sponsored by CTBC, Chinese professional golfer Jenny Shanshan Feng (������) won fourth place in last year’s Swinging Skirts LPGA. She is regarded as a dark horse in this year’s game.
