Grand Hotel instills Chinese art into its decor

Taiwan’s landmark Grand Hotel in Yuanshan, Taipei hosted a cross-strait artistic exchange yesterday between Chinese and Taiwanese artists to highlight the traditional décor made up flowers of the ��Four Noble Ones�� including the orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum blossom.

The traditional style of the eight floors of guest rooms presented a regal atmosphere. The hotel invited painters and calligraphers from China and Taiwan including Guo Shifu, Wang Linxu and Zhao Xuemin in the Chinese painting and calligraphy event.

The hotel which has hosted many visiting foreign dignitaries was established in 1952, and is one of the world’s tallest Chinese classical buildings.
