Cold air mass set to lower temperatures until Friday

TAIPEI–The seasonal northeasterly winds affecting Taiwan have strengthened into a continental cold air mass and should send temperatures lower from Tuesday through Friday, according to data from the Central Weather Bureau.

From Tuesday to Friday, lows in Northern and Northeastern Taiwan will hover between 13 and 15 degrees Celsius, while highs will be between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius due to the cold air mass and clouds and rain from southern mainland China, according to the bureau.

Temperatures will range between 14 and 23 degrees in Central Taiwan, 15 and 25 degrees in the south, and 17 and 22 degrees in the east during the week, the bureau said.

The lows in most parts of Taiwan are expected to climb by 1-2 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, according to bureau data.

Northern and eastern areas in Taiwan and mountainous areas in the central and southern parts of the country can expect occasional showers for the rest of the week.
