TAIPEI — Foreign institutional investors were net buyers of shares worth NT$132.95 billion (US$4.44 billion) on Taiwan’s stock market as of April 8 this year, according to statistics released Monday by the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE).
As of April 8, foreign institutional investors held NT$9.8 trillion worth of shares on the market, accounting for 39.1 percent of the total market capitalization of stocks listed on the TWSE.
The figure represented a decrease of NT$135.61 billion from the April 1 total.
Last week, foreign institutional investors sold a net NT$13.66 million-worth of Taiwanese stocks, snapping an eight-week net buying streak, the TWSE said.
During that period, AU Optronics Corp., Shuttle Inc. and Innolux Corp. were their biggest net buying targets by volume.
CTBC Financial Holding Co., Yuanta Financial Holdings and China Development Financial Holding Corp. were their biggest net selling targets by volume.
