Taipei – One of the highlights of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2017 has been the innovative financial services showcased by the CTBC Bank.

At the event known as the “Olympics of the Technology sector”, the CTBC Bank rolled out its new conceptual “mobile branch” FinTech services including video teller machine (VTM), finger vein ID ATM and customer service robots, etc.

Different from the brick-and-mortar branches, the mobile branch incorporates the latest automation technologies and new business models to “Shaping the Future of Banking”, as the theme of the CTBC Bank pavilion stated.

VTM allows users to open a bank account and receive the debit cards all through streaming video calls. And with help of finger vein recognition technologies, users won’t even need their debit cards to make deposits, withdraws or money transfer as they have the key to their accounts literally at their fingertips. CTBC Bank also displayed other innovations such as a smart deposit machine that can take coins, differentiate banknote denominations and detect counterfeit money.
