TAIPEI (CNA) – The weather around Taiwan is expected to be warm and sunny on Thursday as northeasterly winds weaken, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.
Daytime highs on Thursday are forecast to reach 28 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan and 30 degrees in central and southern regions, according to CWB forecaster Li Meng-hsuan (李孟軒).
Temperatures will rise even higher to over 31 degrees during daytime on Friday, Li said.
However, strong seasonal northeasterly winds will arrive on Saturday, sending daytime temperatures down to 20-21 degrees in northern Taiwan with a high chance of rain, he added.
Between late Saturday and early Sunday, the mercury could fall to as low as 15 degrees in northern Taiwan and 14 degrees in coastal and non-built-up areas, he added.
