NEW YORK (AP) — Andy Steves grew up traveling with his famous dad, Rick Steves, who is a guidebook writer, tour operator and PBS show host.

But Andy Steves is now offering his own advice for a new generation of travelers.

A second edition of his book, “Andy Steves’ Europe: City-Hopping on a Budget,” has just been published and his company, Weekend Student Adventures, offers tours in 18 European cities.

In an interview on the AP Travel podcast “Get Outta Here ,” Steves talked about how his philosophy differs from his dad’s.

Today’s younger travelers are not only on a budget, they’re also strapped for time. Steves provides sightseeing information as well as advice on harnessing technology, finding accommodations on a budget and how to spot authentic eateries while avoiding places geared to tourists.
