Taipei, April 11 (CNA) The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will host an event on April 14 in Taipei to showcase the lives of new immigrants in Taiwan, which will include forums with the authors of a collection of anecdotes and a photo exhibition.

In January, the DPP recruited 20 young “story catchers,” essentially unofficial reporters, to interview immigrants from Southeast Asia about their lives in Taiwan.

The interviewers were from various backgrounds and included scholars doing research on new immigrants and junior college graduates who had never had contact with new immigrants in Taiwan.

Each interviewer compiled five stories, and the collection of 100 anecdotes are being posted on the Facebook page of the DPP women’s group.

At the event on April 14, the interviewers will share their experience of collecting the stories and display the photos they took during the interviews.

The event will start 1 p.m. Saturday at Taipei City’s “Rolling in Life” venue in Da’an District.
