Singapore, June 12 ─ After the historical handshake around 9 A.M. between President Trump and Kim Jong-un on Tuesday, the two immediately proceeds along to the official 40 minutes long meeting. The meeting would not be accommodated by any media, with only the two leaders and their interpreters present.
President Trump had previously announced that he would hold a press conference around 4 P.M. today after the meeting to discuss the topics him and Mr. Kim discoursed throughout the course of the meeting.
The goal of this meeting is to express both sides’ willingness to cooperate and listen to the other’s thoughts and opinions, but ultimate goal predominantly is to try to end or at least lessen the hostility and peril between the two nations’ threat of a nuclear outbreak.
While the US desiderate greatly for North Korea to rid itself of its nuclear armaments, Mr. Kim wishes for the Americans to remove their weapons from the Korean soil and to receive more recognition in terms of global matters. But one thing both sides have in common is the desire to relieve North Korea from its penury as well the seclusion the country receives.
If the talk goes smoothly, we could see a great alleviation of the tension and stress the world has been living in due to the fear of a nuclear outbreak between the two countries. If it goes well enough, we may even have a chance to see Mr. Kim being more cooperative in matters over disagreements in the coming future.
It was planned that after the meeting between the two leaders, Mr. Kim and President Trump would then have lunch together, followed by the press meeting Trump had previously promised. After the press meeting, Trump would leave the Capella Hotel to return to the US by riding the Air Force 1 Aircraft.
