From today, Citi brings its credit card customers Apple Pay, which is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that is fast and convenient.
Head of Consumer Banking for Citi Taiwan, Dennis Hussey said, “Our credit card customers increasingly prefer to do their transactions digitally. With Apple Pay, we are pleased to bring customers added convenience, security and choice when it comes to making payments.”
Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay. When you use a credit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code.
In celebration of offering Apple Pay and driving even more mobile payments usage, Citi customers will also enjoy various promotions and privileges. Credit card customers paying with Apple Pay are entitled to a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on ice cream at Haagen Dazs outlets from today to September 30, 2018.
New credit card customers who apply for a Citi Cash Back credit card or a Citi Rewards Card online can also earn an additional 5% cash back. From today, new credit card customers can select one of five prizes: a 7-11 e-coupon worth NT$600, 20-inch trolley suitcase, Kolin massage cushion, two handheld fans or 5% cash back when paying with Apple Pay.
When Citi Taiwan customers make a purchase using a credit card with Apple Pay, they can still take advantage of the bank’s Pay with Points capability, allowing users to offset their purchases using their rewards points or accumulated miles.
Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by credit cards. In stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later, and Apple Watch
