Taipei, July 20 (CNA)-A number of Taiwan-based airlines have announced changes to their flight schedules for Saturday due to Tropical Storm Ampil, which is heading toward Japan’s Ryukyu Islands.

EVA Air said early morning flight BR112 from Taoyuan to Okinawa and return flight BR113 have been canceled, but a Boeing 777 will be used instead of an Airbus 321 on evening flights BR186 and BR185 between the two destinations to make up for the lost capacity.

Mandarin Airlines flight AE282 between Taichung and Okinawa that was scheduled to depart at 9:50 a.m. on Saturday has been postponed to 4:30 p.m., and the return flight will be delayed to 7:55 p.m.

Tigerair Taiwan flight IT230 between Taoyuan and Okinawa that was scheduled to leave early Saturday morning has been delayed to 2:40 p.m., and the return flight, IT231, has been delayed to 6 p.m.
